Oh What a Wonderful World!!!

Happy New Year to the Oyster Queen Network!..

Its been a good while since I have been able to update this blog, the last year has been a very busy and challenging time. With not so much time to travel physically, although always travelling in the mind..

I started this blog as a way of exploring and actualizing some part of one of my ambitions or passions, to be a Travel/Food Writer. Apart from my long term ambition to be a Successful Entertainer, Singer/Writer/Actress Stage Performer and Performing Artist, touring as part of my work and having a chance to explore the world whilst on the road. This blog helps me to fulfill some part of that desire in the virtual sense at least. My sharing it with you is a bit like having some good company to relate to along the way...

I have been thinking very much about all of the places that I would like to visit in this "Wanderful World" that we live in. The places that you would like to see, that make it onto the so called "Bucket List"! Where would you like to travel to in 2019, or in some unknown date in the not too distant future?

I think of the Seychelles, Mauritius, Madagascar and the islands of the Indian Ocean, The Maldives, and the Pacific paradise havens like Bora Bora, Tahiti and Hawaii.

Whilst pondering on the current issues in the Caribbean this song came to mind - so many versions of these old ska classics, still this is one of the best! Justin Hines and the Dominoes.. Of all of the places in the world that I would LOVE to travel to.. MAURITIUS has to be one of the most desirable to me, as an alternative to the Caribbean lush tropical climate, GREAT beaches and beautiful FRESH seafood and other amazing cuisine! (More-itious: definition - a combination of Delicious, Nutritious, Sumptuous & Luscious...)

Caribbean BES!

The ABC Islands of the Caribbean of Aruba, Bonaire and Curacao are located east of Central America and North of the coast of Venezuela. Island municipalities of the Netherlands formerly known as the Netherlands Antilles until the dissolution on 10th October 2010 when Bonaire became a special municipality, still part of the Netherlands. Also one of three of the BES islands in the Caribbean (Bonaire, Sint Eustatius and Saba). Bonaire has a total land area of just 111sq miles with a population of only 20,000 approximately many of whom are Dutch nationals.  The National Dish is called " Stoba Kabritu" which is Papiamento for stewed goat meat. Goat meat is the  national dish of Bonaire  simply because of how many goats populated the island . One of the unique attractions on the island although not open to visitors is a Flamingo wildlife sanctuary... Which can be viewed and photographed from the complementary coloured, pink sand beach nearby. and also the similarly Pink coloure...
